How it works
Talkmi is WhatsApp Web in its own window, with a translation layer on top. Nothing changes about how WhatsApp works.

Start Talkmi and scan the QR code with your phone, just like WhatsApp Web. You stay logged in.
Turn on a chat
Switch translation on for the chats you want. Incoming messages get a grey line in your language.
Write in your language
Type your reply, press Ctrl+Enter, check the literal back-translation, and send it yourself.
Made for real conversations
With the handyman, the landlord, the supplier, the family abroad. Short messages, typos and all.
Understands context
It reads the last messages of the chat, so a short "ok, tomorrow" is translated the way it was meant.
A profile per contact
Set the language, informal or formal tone, and a line of context. Talkmi writes like you would to that person.

What Talkmi does
- Reads only the chat you have open, and only chats you switched on
- Sends message text to the translation service you picked, nothing else
- Stores settings and a translation cache on your own computer

- Send a message without your click
- Read your other chats, contacts or media
- Keep your messages on a server. The free trial only counts how many translations you used

When the 100 free translations are used up, buy a credit pack. One credit is one translation. Credits don't expire.
After paying you receive a license key by email. Paste it in Talkmi under Settings, Free trial, and click Activate.
Questions
Is this an official WhatsApp app?
No. Talkmi is an independent app that shows the normal WhatsApp Web inside its own window. It is not affiliated with WhatsApp or Meta.
Does my contact notice anything?
No. They just receive a normal message in their own language, sent by you.
What happens after the 100 free translations?
Buy a credit pack, or add your own API key from Claude, OpenAI or Google in the settings. Talkmi shows what your translations cost; for a normal chat that is usually a few cents a month.
How good are the translations?
With the default engine (Claude) very good for everyday conversation, including slang and typos. Talkmi always shows a literal back-translation, so you can check before sending.
